Pet Rehoming Programme

Due to the huge influx of rescues and confiscations, we always have a number of dogs and cats of all ages that need loving homes to live out the rest of their lives in a good family. In spite of the source, due to the huge rabies problem, it is only after a month’s quarantine that we would put them up for adoption. Also during quarantine, they are treated for worms and fleas, fully vaccinated and sterilized to avoid unnecessary breeding before adoption/rehoming. The sterilization is carried out in quarantine but often small puppies and kittens are adopted to whose parents we require to return for sterilization.

Before accepting prospective owners they must fill out an ‘Interest to Adopt Form’ so we can assess the needs of both human and animal to ensure the adoption will be successful. After which a house visit is required to assess complete suitability of the match..

The following suggested adoption donations cover the cost of flea and worm treatment, vaccinations and neutering that is provided here at the LSPCA vet clinic:MK 8000 and MK 16,000 for the cats and dogs respectively.

When animals complete quarantine, they are immediately placed in foster homes (if available) before they are finally adopted.

Owing to the resource constraints the euthanasia policy applied to create room to help other rescued animals. We appeal to the general public; to stop buying animals on the side of the road (Instead adopt our beautiful street specials and exercise caution when buying pedigrees), step up to the plate and become a foster parent, adoptee or Officer, spread the word and for resident expats to take responsibility for their loved pets, even if that means taking them home.

Find on this website some of the cats and dogs waiting for you!
