Lilongwe Society for the Protection and Care of Animals (LSPCA)

Boarding and Adoption

Adoption

LSPCA has a purpose-built rehoming shelter for dogs and cattery for cats, caring for animals that have been surrendered, rescued or confiscated from roadside sellers.  After a medical examination, each animal is quarantined for thirty days to rule out any possible illnesses such as rabies (this is in accordance with national policy guidelines). Once quarantine requirements are cleared, our animals are then placed in the rehoming shelter, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for ticks and sterilised.

Rehoming program 3

Our dogs receive clicker training and are leash walked daily whilst our cats receive regular handling and enrichment sessions with our animal carers and volunteers to provide optimum mental and physical stimulation, as well as to increase their chances of adoption. An adoption fee covers procedures and vaccines to ensure that all our animals are properly cared for before being rehomed.
