The Lilongwe Society for the Protection and Care of Animals (LSPCA) envision a world where donkeys and mules live free from suffering and their contribution to humanity is fully valued. This week, LSPCA has trained twenty two donkey owners in Chigonthi-Lilongwe on tethering hobbles manufacturing as one way of promoting good welfare of donkeys in Malawi.

We are very happy to welcome Zimbabwean vet, Dr. Tariro Alice Makonese to the LSPCA’s Veterinary team. Dr. Tari graduated from the University of Zimbabwe in 2015. Following graduation she worked for the University of Zimbabwe Faculty of Veterinary Science as the resident pathologist. In her free time she also volunteered with various animal shelters, being involved in the treatment of shelter animals as well as surgeries.

You'll find us in Kanengo-Roberts/Area 28, on the outskirts of Lilongwe city. When driving from the city center/Lilongwe town on the M1, just passed Area 30 police, turn at Total filling station, then take your second turn to the right, then first turn left, and about 300 metres you'll see our signpost.
